This was the 3rd netsuke I made since starting carving in late 2013. It is a netsuke of rabbit made from hippo tooth with amber eyes. I learnt a lot from carving this and still continue to when I revisit it. The rabbit was later renamed The General after the Watership Down character due the scar over one of his eyes. This was completed to help develop my carving skills.
